Kingsdale is a pioneering school recognised by distinguished academics as one of the leading transformational institutions in South London. The school's achievements are not based solely on academic success; it is their renowned performing arts, science and vocational courses - along with their innovative and dynamic approach - which has gained the support of government ministers, The Department for Education and Skills, Southwark Council, expert educationalists and an architectural charity.

The School's covered courtyard houses a Geodesic Dome, which contains an auditorium and library. AVSolution Ltd was appointed as the Audio Visual consultant contractor on this cutting-edge project, working closely with a team of specialist structural engineers to bring the latest technologies to the space.

A 7.1 surround sound projection system was installed into the theatre, centred around an auto-retractable 5m wide projection screen concealed within a custom wooden housing. A 10,000 lumens projector was then installed in the control area to facilitate the projection screen and enable a wide range of multi-media presentations and events to be staged. Sound is provided via a surround processor, power amplifiers and Electrovoice speakers.

The dome is also used for performing arts activities and required the provision of a 24 channel mixer, lapel & handheld radio microphones, connection plates for wired microphones and powered monitor speakers. These items allow the utmost flexibility for this multi-functional and versatile space.

Finally the entire space is controlled by a wireless Crestron touch screen - utilising an AVSolution custom designed user-interface - which allows the Client to set up the space and perform multiple tasks with the utmost ease.
